The Struggle For Existence

(About the poem: This poem was written by me in 7th standard. The primary reason for writing it was that I wanted to get something written by me published in the school magazine. Needless to say, I succeeded.)

Increasing is “The struggle for existence”,
We’re unable to offer any resistance.
Jobs limited and people more,
Exhausting are all metallic ore.
Fields unproductive, cattles dying,
Species decreasing, Earth crying.
Factories are having negotiation,
Thus creating extra pollution.
Vehicles also not to spare,
Downpours lay fertile soil bare.

Industries which create hazards,
Must be shown red cards.
If you want to say cheese,
Answer is planting more trees.
And if you want to make cash,
Sell your goods to recycle trash.

Earth could make us utter,
And only we have to suffer.
Humans will die one or other day,
But Earth would make its way.

It is neither forecast nor illusion,
But is full of pure conclusion.
The planet on which we took birth-
All ours mother, the Good Earth:
Today, if we don’t conserve its nature,
The Earth will be a blue dot,
With a black future.
